A simple outline of the picture, drawn loosely from a photograph she took of the scene.
Second step
Blocking in some colour to give the general shape of the painting.
Third step
Adding detail to the painting.

First step
Block in a textured sky to add interest to this simple composition.
Second step
Add some detail to the landscape itself. I like to use bright colours to differentiate hills.
Third step
Add the main feature - a tree - supported by an early moon in the sky.
